Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor she is a popular TV host. The host of her show is Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides concise easy-to-master techniques for the at-home cook on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell had a job at the top New York restaurants and studied Italian cuisine and environment. She also competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by culinary arts and cooking from the age of. Following her graduation with an English and Communications degree at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she started to pursue her passion for the world of food and restaurant management by enrolled at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was a wonderful learning experience for me. It was hard to study, do or work enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy studying at Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a 1 Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. The time she spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian way of life and its culture which has had an impact on her own eating habits. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten the lives of children facing obstacles and is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she promotes children with diabetes and awareness. In her role as an inspirational speaker, she makes trips across the country to share her passion for cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne often has mentioned throughout her professional career that she feels so fortunate to have the opportunity to share with others what is truly important for her.
