Rochon was born in her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Torrance and is her parents being Zelma, a nurse practitioner and Samuel Staples, a business proprietor and graphic artist. Cerritos Senior High School, located in Cerritos California, is where Rochon was a student in 1982. Heather has appeared on a number of television and film shows that include Nightingale as well as Epic Movie.

Ullerup was Julia Brynn in the 2006 remake of Battlestar Galactica, which was shown by Sci Fi Channel. She portrayed Ashley Magnus on the Sanctuary television series in its first and second seasons until the show was cancelled. Fans were enraged by the departure of her character, and many wanted to see her return in future episodes. The show ended in 2012 but not before an intense discussion. In the year 2016, Ullerup was cast as Bree O'Brien in Chesapeake Shores. Ullerup appeared as Maggie Thomas as the estranged ex-wife of Michael Thomas in Asteroid: Final Impact. Ullerup, who has a character in Dale Travers, is one of the characters that have appeared in Hallmark's Signed, Sealed, Delivered films since the year the year 2016.
